Configuring VA
After the KODO for Endpoints server is deployed and powered on, you can log in to the system and set up network configuration.
Do not change the hostname of the KODO server virtual machine. Changing hostname may lead to system unstable behavior. If you need to change the hostname please contact Storware technical support.
To set up network configuration, do as follow:
Use vCenter Web Console to log in to your virtual environment and launch the virtual machine remote console.
Use the
kodo
user to log to KODO server operating system. Logging as theroot
user is not allowed.Use the credentials listed below to log in to the system:
Login: kodo Password: Zt3edWny
Note: For security reasons, please change your password after logging in for the first time!
Use
passwd
command to change password:Type old password and new password two times:
Configure the network connection. The default configuration will try to assign an IP address from a local DHCP server if it exists in a local network. Use the
ip a
command to check the assigned IP address to the virtual machine on the interface ens160.If you'd like to change it to the static one, you have to edit the network configuration file. Use
sudo
command to run a shell withroot

Aad the following entries to the file:
IPADDR=YOUR_IP_ADDRESS
NETMASK=YOUR_NETMASK
GATEWAY=YOUR_GATEWAY
and change them accordingly to your requirements:
IPADDR - IP address of the KODO Server NETMASK - the netmask value of your network GATEWAY - the gateway value of your network
Sample configuration file:
Save the file and exit it by pressing the
ESC

Now you should be able to log in to your KODO system using a web browser and IP address that you configured in the previous steps. Open a web browser and enter the address:
KODO login page should be opened.
If there are no errors on the website, the KODO server is ready to be configured. If you've deployed the KODO for Endpoints Bundle server, go to the Time synchronization section to perform the task for time synchronization between the IBM Spectrum Protect server and OS.
KODO for Endpoints server has no license uploaded. Please contact the Storware sales team to get a trial license.
